Paddle, pedal, and hike through this scenic wonder!
Touring the spectacular San Juan and Gulf Islands by bike, foot, and boat is an awesome way to see this Pacific gem! Famous the world throughout, the San Juan and Gulf Islands are renowned for their pastoral beauty, picturesque coves, and laid-back friendly nature. On this northwest classic we'll immerse ourselves in the Pacific way of life through our extensive exploration of Seattle, tiny fishing villages, and fun towns along the way. We'll sea kayak through amazing blue waters, spot marine wildlife, and hike cool sandy beaches. As an added social element to this trip, we'll also be doing a community service project in order to help out the Forest service.
Days 1-2 Seatle, WA: Meet up in Seattle to do our orientation before heading north to Anacortes to start island hopping.
Days 3-4 Orcas Island, WA: Begin the trip touring around this popular island. Bike around Moran State Park and hike up Mt. Constitution, where you can glimpse the Gulf Islands in their entirety with the impressive Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges set as a backdrop.
Days 5-6 San Juan Island, WA: Explore Friday Harbor and its numerous delights. As we pedal around the remote harbors and coves, we'll look out for orcas, otters, and eagles. In conjunction with the Forest Service, we'll also offer our services in a community service project.
Day 7-10 Vancouver Island, BC: Hop aboard the ferry to this spectacular Canadian isle, where you can spend time exploring the spectacular Pacific Rim National Park.
Days 11-12 Saltspring Island, BC: Head across the Stuart Channel to one of the largest islands of the archipelago.
Day 13-14 Pender Islands, BC: Discover what's behind the Penders’ hidden coves and beaches. Spend a day kayaking South Pender and exploring its inlets and coves. This is where you'll have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the vibrant wildlife!
Days 15-16 Victoria, BC: Explore British Colombia's hip capital city! Discover Victoria's lively cultural mix and star attractions that make it one of Canada's premiere tourist destinations. We'll also get a good bite to eat and see a movie.
Day 17 Seattle, WA: Celebrate the successful conclusion to your adventure back in the cool city of Seattle! Check out the famous markets and ports of this happening city.
Day 18: Homeward Bound!
Areas visited: Seattle – Orcas, San Juan, Vancouver, Saltspring, and Pender Islands – Victoria
Highlights: Island hop, explore majestic coastlines, free time in cities and towns, sea kayak, and community service.
